New Websites themed around Environmental Commendations

In 2007, the Passat became the first Volkswagen model to be awarded an Environmental Commendation. Since then, other models and technologies have followed suit. Now there are also special websites themed around Environmental Commendations. At www.environmental-commendation.com and www.umweltpraedikat.de we bring you up to speed with what an Environmental Commendation is and what a Life Cycle Assessment has to do with it. We also let you know which models and technologies have been awarded an Environmental Commendation and what exactly that involves. And we reveal what you can do to improve your own personal environmental balance-sheet. Volkswagen awards Environmental Commendations to vehicles and technologies that demonstrate ecological progress compared to their predecessors or reference models. These Commendations also provide our customers, shareholders and other stakeholders, inside and outside the company, with more information about how Volkswagen is making its products and production processes more environmentally compatible and what we have already achieved in this respect.
