Audi Maintains Strong Sales Growth in February

· Growth in all major markets in Western Europe
· U.S. sales up 33.6 percent in February
· 61.7 percent growth in China
· Sales Director Schwarzenbauer: “Strong first quarter thanks to leading position
  in China and Western Europe”

AUDI AG reports worldwide sales of around 75.900 automobiles in February. The sales tally for the month is thus 19.9 percent up on February 2009. For the first two months of the year combined, unit sales by the Ingolstadt-based brand showed a rise of 28.7 percent on the prior-year period.

“We are on course for a strong first quarter,” commented Peter Schwarzenbauer, AUDI AG Board Member for Marketing and Sales, on Audi’s global sales situation, “and that is mainly thanks to our leading position in China and Western Europe. But the brand is also performing very well in the United States.”

15.108 Chinese customers chose an Audi in January (+61.7 percent); cumulatively, the sales total for that market was 85.9 percent up on the 2009 figure. In the United States, Audi sales in February rose by 33.6 percent to 6.216 cars, producing an overall gain of 35.7 percent for the year to date. The brand with the four rings has consequently improved its position even further: Its share of the premium market (IHG) grew by 1.5 percentage points over the first two month of 2010 to 8.5 percent.

In Western Europe, Audi remains the most successful premium brand based on the first two months of the year. In February, sales were up 6.0 percent at 43.127 cars. From January to February, the sales total was therefore 12.1 percent higher than in the previous year.
