Josef Schelchshorn appointed SEAT Executive Vice-President Human Resources

Josef Schelchshorn (49) has been appointed Executive Vice-President Human Resources at the SEAT brand effective September 1, 2010. He succeeds Ramón Paredes Sánchez-Collado (54), who will be the Executive Committee member responsible for SEAT and Volkswagen Group government relations in Spain.

Josef SchelchshornJosef Schelchshorn is currently head of human resources at the Ingolstadt location of Audi AG. In 1993, the business economist was given responsibility for human resources at Audi Hungaria Motor Kft., initially as specialist project manager, and subsequently becoming departmental head two years later. In 1997 he moved to the post of assistant to the Board member for human resources at Audi AG headquarters in Ingolstadt. Schelchshorn returned to Audi Hungaria in 2000 as HR director and member of the management board, before taking up an appointment as head of human resources in the production division in Ingolstadt. He has been head of human resources for the entire Ingolstadt location since March 2003.

Ramón Paredes Sánchez-ColladoRamón Paredes Sánchez-Collado joined SEAT in 1971. He worked in tool maintenance, was workshop manager for small presses and completed an international posting at Volkswagen and Audi in Germany before assuming responsibility for tool maintenance and design, and later for large presses, at SEAT in Barcelona in 1990. Ramón Paredes headed the SEAT press shop in Barcelona from 1992 to 2001. The engineer was subsequently given responsibility for assembly at the Martorell plant. He has been Executive Vice-President Human Resources at SEAT since November 2003.
