Rothenpieler to head Volkswagen Sachsen,
Tuch takes charge of Group quality assurance
• Dr. Löschmann appointed Group Representative for India
• Müller moves to new “Group Trucks” division
Hans-Joachim Rothenpieler (52), head of quality assurance at the Volkswagen Group, has been appointed board of management spokesman and managing director for engineering at Volkswagen Sachsen GmbH effective September 1, 2010. The new head of Group quality assurance is Frank Tuch (43), most recently chief operating officer at the British car maker Lotus Cars. At Volkswagen Sachsen, Rothenpieler succeeds Dr. Frank Löschmann (46), who becomes the new Group Representative for India effective October 1. This function is presently held by Jörg Müller (48), who moves to a responsible post in the new “Group Trucks” division.
Hans-Joachim Rothenpieler joined the Group in 1986. Having held senior posts in design and project management at various Group brands, the engineering graduate was given responsibility for total vehicle development passenger cars at Škoda in 1995. He was appointed board member for technical development at Rolls-Royce and Bentley Motor Cars in 2000. He headed total vehicle development passenger cars at Volkswagen from 2003 to 2005 before taking charge of a product line in Technical Development. Rothenpieler was initially appointed head of quality assurance for the Volkswagen brand in 2007, and subsequently also given responsibility for Group quality assurance.
Frank Tuch held positions in quality assurance and as technical director at various companies before becoming a project manager and later head of engine quality assurance at the Berlin plant of the former Daimler Chrysler AG in 1998. The engineering graduate moved to Porsche AG in Stuttgart as head of process quality in 2002. He was in charge of quality at the Porsche plant in Leipzig from 2003 to 2007, subsequently becoming head of corporate quality at Porsche in Stuttgart. Tuch moved to Lotus Cars in May of this year.
Dr. Frank Löschmann joined Volkswagen AG in Wolfsburg in 1992, where he was involved in brand planning. The engineering graduate headed plant coordination in Wolfsburg from 1995 to 1997, subsequently assuming responsibility for Golf assembly at Volkswagen Sachsen; he took charge of series planning at the Mosel plant in 1999. He held responsibility for overall planning at the SEAT brand in Barcelona from 2001 to 2002, then returned to Wolfsburg to become head of production technology at the Volkswagen brand. Dr. Löschmann was appointed board of management spokesman and managing director for engineering at Volkswagen Sachsen in August 2005.
Jörg Müller has been with the Volkswagen Group since 1991. He was appointed technical managing director at Volkswagen Bordnetze in 1994. He took charge of the exhaust systems business unit at Volkswagen’s Kassel plant in 1996 before becoming chairman of the board of management of Volkswagen Bordnetze in 1998. The engineering graduate was named plant manager at Volkswagen’s Brunswick plant in 2002. Müller was Vice President Operations at Volkswagen do Brasil from 2005 and became the Group Representative for India in June 2007.
