Wolpert to take charge of Group product management

Porsche top manager is Matthias Müller’s successor

Klaus-Gerhard Wolpert (53) takes over charge of Group product management at the Volkswagen Group effective October 1, 2010Klaus-Gerhard Wolpert (53), currently Cayenne model series head at Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart, takes over from Matthias Müller at the Volkswagen Group effective October 1, 2010. As announced, Müller has been appointed Chairman of the Board of Management of Porsche AG effective the same date. “Porsche and Volkswagen are continuing to dovetail,” Prof. Dr. Martin Winterkorn, Chairman of the Board of Management of Volkswagen Aktiengesellschaft, commented.

Matthias Müller was in charge of product management, product planning and model series for the Volkswagen Group and the Volkswagen brand. His successor Klaus-Gerhard Wolpert joined Porsche AG in 1984. The engineering graduate became departmental head at chassis development in 1990. He moved to the post of assistant at the board of management’s development division in 1992 before assuming responsibility for Porsche AG’s cooperation projects in 1995. Wolpert has been Cayenne model series head since July 1998.
