Giovanni Perosino heads Group Marketing Communications

Newly-created function effective from September 1

Giovanni Perosino, Head Group Marketing CommunicationsVolkswagen continues to develop its Group marketing activities. Giovanni Perosino (46) was appointed to the newly-created Group Marketing Communications function effective September 1, 2010. He was formerly director of marketing communications at the Fiat group (Turin). “We are driving Volkswagen’s successful growth further forward with the systematic coordination of marketing communications at Group level,” Christian Klingler, Board Member for Sales at Volkswagen Aktiengesellschaft, emphasized.

Giovanni Perosino was marketing manager at Bacardi-Martini B.V. (Amsterdam) from 1992 to 1999, where he held several posts, latterly as head of global marketing. He then moved to Fila Holding (Milan) as marketing director. In 2001, Perosino joined the Fiat group as marketing communications director for the Lancia brand. He was appointed head of global marketing communications for the Fiat brand in 2005 and given responsibility for this function in the Fiat group in 2009. Perosino was responsible for coordinating the market launch of several group models and also acted as marketing communication advisor for the Chrysler Group.
