Volkswagen Poznań wins "Employee-friendly employer" award
The Volkswagen plant in the Polish city of Poznań has been recognised as an "Employee-friendly employer". The certificate was awarded to Jolanta Musielak, Personnel Director at Volkswagen Poznań, and Piotr Olbrys, Chairman of the Works Council, by the Polish President Bronislaw Komorowski in the Presidential Palace in Warsaw last week. The nationwide "Employee-friendly employer" competition was held by the trade union Solidarność and saw 12 companies pick up prizes.
Dr. Horst Neumann, Personnel Director of Volkswagen Aktiengesellschaft, emphasised: "On the road to becoming the best employer, we have had to implement our promise of realising our considerable standards in human resources around the world. This award proves that we are making good progress." Dr. Neumann also highlighted areas that strengthen Volkswagen's future worth: "Encouraging employees to be active in their own development, ensuring that employees' commitment, ideas and achievements form the focus of what we do and constantly involving employees in decisions affecting the company and its success remain at the core of our personnel management."
"The prize is a clear indication that the culture of cooperative thinking and actions is well and truly alive at Volkswagen, and that is around the world. If you want to be a top employer in today's market, you need to integrate your employees and involve them in decisions that affect the company. And Volkswagen does just that", said Bernd Osterloh, President of the Volkswagen Group Global Works Council. "Both the works council and management team at Volkswagen Poznań can be proud of winning this award. The fact that Volkswagen Poznań is a leading employer in Poland is also down to the fantastic trade union work performed by our colleagues there."
