Volkswagen Group India delivered 60,850 cars from January to June 2012

Volkswagen Group India sold 60,850 cars from January to June 2012 as compared to 55,091 cars during the same time period last year, a growth of 10.5 percent. “The Volkswagen Group India shows a constant growth in the challenging Indian automotive market with offering premium cars to our customers from the three brands Audi, ŠKODA and Volkswagen. The 200,000th car Roll-Out from the Chakan plant a few days ago underlines this growth path.” said Dr. John Chacko, Volkswagen Group Chief Representative India & President and Managing Director, Volkswagen India Private Limited.

Volkswagen Group India brands – Audi and ŠKODA achieved impressive sales figures during the six months period from January to June 2012 while the sales figures of Volkswagen remained with a slight decrease on a similar level compared to the corresponding period last year. Audi sold 4,000 cars during January to June 2012 while 2,802 cars were sold during the same period last year. ŠKODA delivered 20,464 cars from January to June 2012 in comparison to 14,611 cars during January to June 2011. Meanwhile, Volkswagen sold 36,386 cars as compared to 37,678 cars in the previous year.
