From September 14 through 17, more than 100 international artists will present their work at the Hamburger Bahnhof – Museum für Gegenwart – Berlin with the theme “The Challenge is in the moment, the time is always now.”
This is the second time that the Festival of Future Nows 2017 → ∞ brings together the views of young artists from around the world. The cooperation between the Nationalgalerie – Staatliche Museen zu Berlin and the internationally renowned artist Olafur Eliasson with his Institut für Raumexperimente e.V. opened up fascinating discussions about issues of our time back in 2014. This time, more than 100 artists from Germany and abroad are working in a variety of formats, including performances, events and interventions.
As part of its international cultural commitment, Volkswagen supports in particular projects that facilitate the creative exchange of those engaged in the cultural sector and visitors.
Udo Kittelmann – director of the Nationalgalerie – Staatliche Museen zu Berlin: “For the second time, international artists from all over the world will participate in this festival. Their works reflect on current artistic and political discussions, reacting to the ongoing developments of the world in a spontaneous and direct manner.”
Benita von Maltzahn, head of culture and society at Volkswagen Group Communications points out: “In our partnership with the Nationalgalerie – Staatliche Museen zu Berlin, our aim is to provide artists with a reliable foundation for them to address important issues of our society. Finding answers to questions of the future requires having different perspectives and open, mutual discussions.”
Entrance to the Festival is free for visitors on all three days.
