They know the future of mobility

They know the future of mobility

At Volkswagen, the spirit of research meets vehicle development every day, but today it is especially celebrated: at the 13th PRO.MOTION PhD students’ day in Wolfsburg. Let our film take you into the future.

The simulations have been tested, the model designs staged and the presentations rehearsed. Around 240 young researchers and developers have prepared themselves for Volkswagen's 13th PRO.MOTION PhD students' day, many of them presenting their ideas for tomorrow's mobility to a selected specialist audience today at the MobileLifeCampus in Wolfsburg. The motto this year? Researching towards tomorrow.

Know today how we’ll drive tomorrow

That's exactly what PhD students Patrick Arnold, Anja Bielefeld and Robert Wendland are doing in the field of drive technology, which is a particular focus this year. At various Volkswagen locations they are testing how we might move forward in five or ten years' time and looking for the right formula for the future. For Patrick Arnold, the equation is already clear: fuel cell + battery = future. Get behind that equation in Part 1 of our PhD series above and from now on at LinkedIn.

You want to know what Anja Bielefeld and Robert Wendland are researching? Parts 2 and 3 of our PhD series will soon be available here.
