Ombudsman System
The Volkswagen Group ombudsman system creates a secure environment within which employees and business partners can help fight corruption. Corruption is not a trivial offense: on the contrary, it harms the company and its employees. That is why uncovering corruption is so important – and the Volkswagen Group ombudsman system is part of the clarification process.
Two highly-respected lawyers acting as independent ombudsmen (the term derives from the Swedish word for “commissioner” or “representative”) can be contacted with information on corruption. All information is treated in the strictest confidence and the identity of anyone disclosing information is kept strictly anonymous, the ombudsmen are bound by the oath of professional secrecy.
