Dr. Bernhard to assume chair of Volkswagen brand group May 1st

Dr. Wolfgang Bernhard (44) will assume the chairmanship of the Volkswagen brand group starting on May 1, 2005. The Supervisory Board of the Volkswagen Group took note of this appointment at its meeting on Wednesday. Prof. Dr. Folker Weißgerber has reached the age of 65 and will retire according to his contract on June 30, 2005.
