Volkswagen is Extending its Range of Diesel Particulate Filters

Nine Volkswagen-models from Golf to Phaeton covering 34 model versions are offered with diesel particulate filters ex works.

Volkswagen is extending its range of TDI-engines with diesel particulate filters (DPF) even further: Already available to order and with the dealers in the next few days are the 1.9 litre versions of the Golf, Golf Plus and Jetta TDI models each with 77 kW / 105 hp.

The Touran 1.9 TDI and the 2.0 TDI for Golf, Golf Plus, Jetta, Touran and Sharan have already been available on request with diesel particulate filters since the autumn of last year. The surcharge in comparison with models with the same transmission but without DPF is a standard 575 Euro in this case. So Volkswagen is now already offering nine models with a diesel particulate filter ex works: Golf, Golf Plus, Jetta, Touran, Passat, Passat Variant, Sharan, Touareg and Phaeton. The performance spectrum covered by the total of 34 TDI model versions with a diesel particulate filter extends from 77 kW / 105 hp to 230 kW / 313 hp, the cubic capacity from 1.9 litres to 5.0 litres and the number of cylinders from four to ten.

The diesel particulate filter is fitted as standard in the new pump-jet TDI with piezo valves, which generates 125 kW / 170 hp from a two litre capacity. This engine is available for the Golf GT and the Touran as well as for the Passat und Passat Variant. The diesel particulate filters are also fitted as standard on the Touareg V6 TDI and V10 TDI plus the Phaeton V6 TDI.

In the course of 2006 Volkswagen will extend the availability of diesel particulate filters even further.
