New Environment and Work Safety Manager

On 1 April, Günter Damme was appointed the new Environment and Work Safety Manager of the Volkswagen Group.

Günter Damme replaces Günter Sager who held this position since 2002 and is now retiring. Günter Damme (53) studied mathematics and joined Volkswagen as a trainee in 1978. He has since held several management functions within Research and Development. The married father-of-three puts a high priority on product-orientated environmental protection: "Our customers and the public primarily notice responsible and environmentally sound processes in our products. In the future we aim to be even more successful in combining outstanding technology, quality and efficiency with ecological aspects in the development of our products."
