Volkswagen Group holds pole position in international fleet business

First six months bring 4.5 percent rise in fleet registrations for Group’s passenger car brands on five largest EU markets

The Volkswagen Group holds pole position in the fleet business on the five largest EU markets of Germany, UK, France, Spain and Italy. According to Dataforce, fleet registrations for the Group’s Volkswagen, Audi, Seat and Skoda brands in the first six months of 2007 totaled 311,033 units (297,575 in 2006). This figure corresponds to an increase of 4.5 percent. The market share in this sector therefore rose to 24.22 percent (23.39 percent in 2006).

In the brand ranking for the first half-year, the strongest-growing brands were Skoda with a rise of 26.7 percent to 24,294 registrations and Audi with an increase of 9.2 percent to 98,058 registrations. The Volkswagen brand remains the leading brand in fleet market business on the five largest EU markets, with new registrations totaling 162,241 units.
