Volkswagen Once Again Best Car Manufacturer in the Ranking of Sustainability Reports

Volkswagen among the top ten of the 150 companies assessed.

In the 2007/2008 Sustainability Report, Volkswagen is once again after 2005 the best car manufacturer in the ranking that has been conducted regularly since 1994 by the company association future e.V. and the Institute for Ecological Economic Research (IÖW).

In addition to aspects of content, such as “Ecological Aspects of Production”, “Social Responsibility in the Locality” and “Interests of Employees”, the credibility, clarity and communicative quality of the reports with which the companies inform the public about their activities and commitment in the area of sustainability is assessed.

In its report published under the motto “We are Moving Into the Future – Responsibly” the Volkswagen Group went beyond the representation of its current sustainability work and also took up long-term and future-oriented themes and issues for the company and the motor industry. Since 1995 the Volkswagen Group has regularly reported on its ecological, economic and social aspects.

The results of the ranking, in which the 150 biggest German companies were evaluated, were announced in Berlin. The 2007 ranking was conducted with the support of the Council for Sustainable Development.
