En route to a twelfth record year:

Audi grows in every region worldwide
More than 76,900 vehicles sold during October – an increase of 5.3 percent
Growth of 5.5 percent in Germany
Head of Marketing and Sales Ralph Weyler: “100,000 units planned for China”

AUDI AG sold some 76,900 vehicles worldwide during October – an increase of 5.3 percent (2006: 73,050). In the first ten months of the year, Audi sold around 818,200 vehicles in total, a rise of 8 percent against the previous year’s result (2006: 757,763). The brand with the four rings reported increased sales both during and as at October in all sales regions. “Owing to last month’s results, we are extremely confident about the final months of 2007. By the end of the year, we want to slightly surpass our stated goal of 950,000 vehicles worldwide,” said Ralph Weyler, Board Member for Marketing and Sales at AUDI AG.

In Europe (including Germany), sales figures for October were 2.5 percent up on the previous year at around 55,400 units (2006: 54,019; January to October: 589,700, up 5.2 percent). Audi once again reported the highest sales in a European export market in the United Kingdom: 7,066 vehicles signified a rise of 12.8 percent (2006: 6,262; January to October: 89,928, up 16.4 percent). In Germany AUDI AG handed over 23,742 vehicles to customers during October, an increase in sales of 5.5 percent (2006: 22,502; January to October 210,183, down 0.9 percent). Between January and October, Audi secured a record market share of 7.9 percent in Germany.

AUDI AG sales also rose in America. A total of 9,283 customers purchased a new car from Ingolstadt during October, 10.2 percent more than during October of last year (2006: 8,420; January to October: 94,219, up 10.0 percent). In the USA alone, Audi sold 7,421 vehicles in October. Sales results were thus up 15.4 percent compared to the previous year (2006: 6,431; January to October: 75,900, up 10 percent). In the Africa/Middle and Near East region, AUDI AG sales in October rose to around 2,150 vehicles, an increase of 5.7 percent (2006: 2,035; January to October: approximately 23,450, up 12.2 percent). October sales figures for the Middle East were 39.7 percent higher than in the preceding year at 563 units sold; from January to October Audi sold more than 5,189 units in this region (2006: 3,883; up 33.6 percent).

AUDI AG reported the greatest increase in sales in the Asia/Pacific region, where, with some 10,100 vehicles sold, growth was up 17.9 percent compared to October of the 2006 record year (8,576; January to October: around 110,900, up 22.5 percent). Sales results in China (including Hong Kong) were 24.8 percent higher than the figure for October of last year (7,695 vehicles; January to October: 83,863, up 25.9 percent). Ralph Weyler commented, “We are aiming to sell more than 100,000 vehicles in China this year. Also due to this high growth, 2007 will be our twelfth record year in succession.”
