Volkswagen brand again reports significant increase in sales: 10.3 percent rise in November

324,000 vehicles delivered worldwide – New all-time high
Record for January – November as well: 3.37 million vehicles sold
Winterkorn: Product offensive to be stepped up further

The Volkswagen brand continued to grow sales in November, reporting a further significant increase worldwide of 10.3 percent, marking a new all-time high for the eleventh month of the year. A total of 324,000 vehicles were delivered to customers. Vehicle deliveries rose by 8.8 percent in the period January – November. Customers around the world bought 3.37 million Volkswagen brand vehicles, the highest number ever for such a period.

“These impressive sales figures confirm our innovative customer-oriented product policy and the sustained growth of the Volkswagen brand with its increasingly broad model range. After eleven months we have already delivered almost as many vehicles as we did during the whole of the 2006 record-breaking year,” Prof. Dr. Martin Winterkorn, Chairman of the Board of Management of Volkswagen AG and the Volkswagen brand, commented.

The product offensive will be stepped up further next year. Alongside the Tiguan, which has got off to an excellent start, the Volkswagen brand’s upcoming world premieres will be the Passat Coupé and the new Scirocco. The BlueMotion family of particularly environmentally friendly automobiles will have increased from the present seven to ten models by next spring.

Of the ten biggest individual markets worldwide for the Volkswagen brand, the highest rise in sales so far during 2007 came in Brazil, with an increase of 34.7 percent. 448,000 VW models were delivered here from January – November. This was followed by China, also Volkswagen’s largest individual market, with a plus of 28.0 percent (726,000 deliveries) and Argentina with an increase of 21.3 percent (94,000 deliveries).
