Klaus Dierkes appointed board member for personnel at Skoda

Martin Jahn to become General Director of Volkswagen Group RUS and member of the Skoda Supervisory Board

Volkswagen has named Klaus Dierkes (51) as member of the Board of Directors responsible for personnel policy at Skoda Auto, Czech Republic by agreement with the Supervisory Board of Skoda. He succeeds Martin Jahn (38), who has been named General Director of Volkswagen Group RUS, Russia. Jahn will be responsible for the Group sales of Volkswagen AG in Russia. Both changes are to take effect as of April 1, 2008.

Klaus Dierkes has held various positions with the Volkswagen Group since 1984. He has been Head of Human Resources, Volkswagen Germany since February 2006 and General Representative of Volkswagen AG since July 2007.

Martin Jahn studied economics in the Czech Republic and marketing and communication science in the USA. He held senior management posts at the investment and business development agency Czechinvest, latterly as General Director from 1999. He then became Deputy Prime Minister for Economics of the Czech Republic in 2004 before moving to Skoda to become the board member for personnel in February 2006.

Jahn will continue to make his expertise available to the Supervisory Board of Skoda following his move to Volkswagen Group RUS and will take a seat on the Supervisory Board in the foreseeable future.
