Head of Sales Germany to leave Volkswagen
Stefan Müller (47), Head of Sales Germany at the Volkswagen Passenger Cars brand, will leave the company at his own request on March 31, 2008. His interim successor will be Martin Stangenberg (56), Regional Manager, Sales Germany.
Stefan Müller joined Audi AG in July 2003, where he managed sales in Germany. In September 2005, he assumed responsibility for merging Volkswagen Synko and Audi Synko to form Volkswagen Retail GmbH, subsequently becoming Managing Director of the new company. Müller has been Head of Sales Germany at the Volkswagen Passenger Cars brand since April 2006. The company would like to thank Stefan Müller for his services and wishes him every success in his future career.
A final decision on a successor will be taken mid-year. Until then, Martin Stangenberg will assume these duties. He headed European sales planning before taking responsibility for sales in the Central Europe region which includes Austria and Switzerland. Stangenberg was appointed regional manager for sales in Germany at the end of 2004.
