Volkswagen Group launches “Driving ideas.” campaign
The “Driving ideas.” concept brings together cutting-edge ideas for tomorrow’s mobility developed and realized by the Volkswagen Group.
Our Group’s performance is powered by good ideas. We call them “Driving Ideas.”These ideas will in future be communicated under the “Driving ideas.” vision, demonstrating just how the Group combines innovative strength with excellent execution and documenting the strong commitment which the Group brings to meeting its social responsibilities.
The first topic presented under the “Driving Ideas.” campaign concerns SunFuel®, the second-generation biofuel. This particular “Driving idea” illustrates how our research and development activities contribute to making mobility more environmentally compatible, more sustainable and even safer in future. Our fuel strategy makes a vital contribution in this context, and SunFuel® is an important building block. We are cooperating closely with prestigious partners from the fuel industry, such as IOGEN and Shell.
Our commitment to second-generation biofuels is a long-standing one. SunFuel® is almost CO2-neutral and can be used to power all engines in the Volkswagen Group’s current model range. Thanks to a revolutionary production technology, SunFuel® is manufactured from plant residue such as straw.
We are also researching in other fields, too. Sophisticated technology makes our cars more efficient and helps to prevent accidents. Environmental aspects are one focus of work to develop our powertrains further, and with the help of new technologies, end-of-life vehicles can today be almost completely recycled.
