Volkswagen Group at a Glance

The Group operates 123 production plants in 20 European countries and a further 11 countries in the Americas, Asia and Africa. 664,496 employees worldwide produce vehicles, and work in vehicle-related services or other fields of business. The Volkswagen Group sells its vehicles in 153 countries.

Under the new vision "Shaping mobility - for generations to come." the Volkswagen Group with its sharpened TOGETHER 2025+ strategy provides answers to the challenges of today and tomorrow. Our goal is to make mobility sustainable for us and for future generations. Our promise: With electric drive, digital networking and autonomous driving, we are making automobiles clean, quiet, intelligent and safe. At the same time, our core product becomes even more emotional and offers a completely new driving experience. It is also becoming part of the solution when it comes to climate and environmental protection. In this way, the car can continue to be a cornerstone of contemporary, individual and affordable mobility in the future.

By 2050, at the latest, the entire Volkswagen Group will also be a CO2-neutral company.

The Volkswagen Group will be launching about 70 new electric car models by 2028. With Microsoft as its strategic partner, the company is taking a decisive step in its digital transformation. Working together, we aim to press ahead with software development for the automobile of tomorrow and new services for our customers. This enables the comprehensive strengthening and expansion of our IT expertise and solutions.

Volkswagen and Amazon Web Services are to develop the Volkswagen Industrial Cloud together. In future, the Volkswagen Industrial Cloud will combine the data of all machines, plants and systems from all facilities of the Volkswagen Group. The Industrial Cloud thus creates the essential prerequisites for achieving the productivity goals in production.

Developing battery technology has also been defined as a core competency of the Volkswagen Group.

The successful transformation requires the Group to place its innovation power on an even broader footing: the Group is driving forward with digitalization across all brands, areas and functions.

At the same time, Volkswagen will rely to a greater extent than before on partnerships, acquisitions and strategic investments.
