Volkswagen supports UN refugee aid information teams with vehicles
The Volkswagen Group has been a supporter of UN refugee aid for years. The partnership covers many smaller and larger aspects. Among other things, Volkswagen provides vehicles to the employees for their work on site in Germany. Fundraisers use three Passat Variant vehicles to drive through cities and inform citizens at market stalls about the situation of refugees worldwide and about the work of UN Refugee Aid.
"Without the vehicles, our information and fundraising campaign would not be possible. Our teams are in a different city every week and sometimes even in very small towns that are inconvenient to reach. We also have a lot of material with us, so the large trunk helps us a lot," says campaign manager Emely Klement from UN Refugee Aid.
The equipment of the so-called Face2Face teams includes a pavilion complete with table, rain jackets, umbrellas, information material and small gifts for donors.
"Mobility is Volkswagen's core competence. That's why we're happy to do UN refugee aid a favor with reliable vehicles. The teams are doing important information work about flight, the causes and fates of flight to raise awareness in our society," says the project manager of Volkswagen Group Refugee Aid, Oliver Braun - who was recently able to see the teams' work on site in Hanover.
