Partnership with MoMA and MoMA PS1

Founded with a pioneering objective, the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) has been fusing museum and educational work for more than 85 years. It is also affiliated with MoMA PS1, one of the world’s most important platforms for the advancement of contemporary art. Both institutions represent a unique source of inspiration for art enthusiasts all over the world. The Volkswagen Group of America has been supporting the MoMA and MoMA PS1 as an official partner since 2011. Its involvement has brought over 35 different projects to life, including successful exhibitions and retrospectives of the pioneering German artists Sigmar Polke and Christoph Schlingensief. With EXPO:1, the partnership resulted in an international art project which ultimately provided the impetus to present the art installation "Rain Room" in Shanghai for the first time. The construction of the VW Dome supported by Volkswagen Group of America expanded the possibilities available at MoMA PS1. For example, this is where the VW Sunday Sessions have been held for the last four years. As the main partner of the MoMA education programme, the Group also empowers the expansion of the award-winning online seminars via which the MoMA opens itself even further to a global audience.
